You did not set the T2-R’s volume to max before programming your Manhattan remote to control your TV. From what I have learned, it is something to do with the signal strength (either too strong or too weak, I'm not to sure) of any particular channel. And the T2-R nicely whets the appetite for the company's incoming T3-R, which adds streaming bells and whistles.

I have a Smart TV which is connected to the internet and through this I can get on demand tv, netflix, prime and a host of other apps, so I chose the T2 because I didn't need it to be connected to the internet. That 'given point' is rather variable but I suspect it is related to the start time of the F1 recording. So if the reception goes bad – for example if you move your aerial, or during a bad thunderstorm – you’ll find out later that you have a stuttering, garbled recording. An issue that could cause the box to freeze and become unresponsive during the initialisation of the Hard Drive after boot. With 95% of the nation’s favourite programmes***, there’s no need to pay for channels you don’t watch. The T2-r allows you to Pause and rewind live TV, record entire series and even record two HD programmes at once. The 500GB Hard Drive holds up to 300 hours of recordings, smartly organised into categories and series. I appreciate the use of the left and right buttons to skip a set number of seconds (configurable) while playing a recording. Programmes deleted and emptied from the Trash could not be re-recorded and any repeats were indicated as already recorded.

The perfect solution if you don't want to subscribe to costly services, with Freeview HD you'll get over 70 channels with up to 15 HD channels, all which can be recorded for future watching. You’ll always be entertained with 70 TV channels, 15 HD channels and 25+ radio stations from Freeview. On the back of the box, you’ll find the power socket, an optical audio port (for connecting directly to speakers/soundbar), an AV minijack, an aerial socket where you plug a coaxial TV aerial cable (from your indoor or outdoor antenna), Ethernet and USB ports, and the HDMI port. The T2•R no longer checks for software updates being broadcast because the engineering channel used to broadcast them was shut down in March 2018. Depending on what you are watching it can be just seen as a little annoyance or it can just ruin the viewing of a film. It’s a “Learning Remote”, so you can also use it to control your telly’s basic functions – on/off, volume control and input selection. This depends on the shows being tagged correctly by the Freeview EPG folks – which sometimes doesn’t happen.
